Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults overnight. A minor died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
